2013 Songs at Sunset to benefit the ATA

The annual “Songs at Sunset,” an Albany-Tula Alliance much-talked about event of the year, is accepting donations to the event to be held on Sunday, September 7th, 2014. Unlike previous years, when the soiree was enjoyed at Charlotte Buchanan’s lovely abode, this year the popular sold-out fundraising event commences at the Fort Orange Club in Albany, NY.

The evening begins at 6p in the Main Dining Room and Tap Room with a cocktail buffet, followed by a special singing performance between 7-8p in the West Lounge, and concluding with coffee and desserts from 8-9p, again in the Main Dining Room.

A rousing performance of “Baubles of Broadway” will be performed by Albany’s own singing attorney and tenor, Rich Miller along with Johnnie Moore and friends.

With a gift of $175 per person as “Executive Producer” or $150 per person as “Executive Director” you will not only be recognized as members of the “Songs at Sunset” Honorary Committee, but you will have the best seats at the event. Most importantly, you will help the continuing work that the people of the Capital Region and Tula perform. General admission is priced at $100 as we would be more than happy to accommodate those who want to learn more about our sister-city organization.

At a time when political tensions dominate news headlines, it is critically important to maintain citizen diplomacy. To quote James Leach, Chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities, “One of the myths of our times is that relations between countries is principally a function of government policy and that the diplomacy is exclusively a government-to-government dialog. Actually, it is businessmen and businesswomen, unelected people of good will – be they artists or scientists, athletes, students, or scholars in the hunmanities – who are more integral to defining the tone of relations between states than elected officials.

Our partnerships with the citizens of Tula continue to enrich both regions through collaboration in education, health and the environment, cultural events, and business development activities.

For the past several years this event has not only sold out, but there has been a waiting list. Provide a donation to the “Albany-Tula Alliance” and mail to 43 Lyons Ave, Delmar, NY 12054 or email Mary Williams with more information: contact@albanytula.org or call 518.339.5872 and leave a message. We will call you back immediately~

Thank you.
